Dr. Sahar Arshad Mahmood is an environmental economist with a PhD in Economics (Environmental) from Clark University, USA. Her educational background includes BS economics from QAU, Islamabad, MPhil Econometrics from PIDE, Islamabad and Master’s in Economics from Clark University, USA as well.
Her PhD dissertation was a USDA funded project focused on preference analysis of farmer’s willingness to enroll in Cover Crops program leading to sustainable agricultural practices and economic growth, employing Mixed logit model and double hurdle model with WTA. A paper of this work was presented by Dr. Sahar in NAREA conference 2022 in USA and won an award for best student paper as well.
Dr. Sahar’s research expertise resides in the field of environmental economics with a focus on non-market valuation, Discrete Choice Experiments, along with along with spatial analysis, and bioeconomic modeling leading to sustainable economic growth.
